Ports

Harris Group Port experience includes both marine and aviation. We have provided engineering services to the Ports and Harbors Infrastructure industries since our founding in 1975. We have served Port Authorities including the Ports of Seattle, Tacoma, Kalama, Portland, Vancouver, and Walla Walla and such companies within the Ports as the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway, Simplot, the Alaska State Ferry System, the US Navy, Arco Products, and various others.

We have designed a wide variety of airport projects. These include retrofit of major utilities such as power distribution (low voltage, medium voltage, emergency, 400Hz); mechanical systems (plumbing, HVAC, potable water, fire protection); communications & controls (DCS systems, fire alarm, telephone, Wi-Fi, Fiber optic backbone); lighting (AOA ramp, parking garage, general).

We have also designed a wide variety of marine terminals and waterfront structures. These include general bulk, break-bulk, RO/RO, container, and specialized dry and liquid bulk facilities for ships ranging in size up to 300,000 SWT. In addition, we have been involved in the planning and design of ship repair yards, offshore drilling rigs, and module construction facilities.

As a result of our in-house discipline capabilities, Harris Group is able to handle the planning, design, and construction management of a modern airport or marine terminal including all civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical requirements for the complete facility. For customers with an in-house engineering staff, we are also able to provide support and specialty engineering on a consulting basis.
