DENVER, June 3 2003.

Denver, CO -- May 29, 2003 –Washington State University will be more energetic than usual these days as they upgrade to a more environmentally friendly and efficient steam and power generation facility on their Pullman, Washington campus. Harris Group Inc., an engineering and design firm with offices throughout the United States, was contracted to engineer, design and commission this fast-track - 12 months from design to operation - project. Teaming with Washington State University’s Capital Planning & Development and Facilities Operations departments, Wood/Harbinger, Inc. and Hoffman Construction Company, the expected online operation of the plant is October 31, 2003.

The new energy facility will be integrated into Washington State University’s currently operating facilities, producing steam and electricity to campus users. This integration will increase system capacity and reliability, while simplifying operations. Harris Group is integrating total system operations through the use of a “state of the art” distributed control system. The plant includes three (3) 99 mm BTU/hr boilers, two (2) 1.2 MW natural gas and one (1) 2 MW diesel generator, plus balance of plant equipment.

Harris Group Inc. provides multi-discipline engineering to five market sectors: energy, ethanol & biomass, forest industries, industrial manufacturing, and microelectronics. Its specialty services include financial consulting, process development and systems integration.
