Specific experience in the preparation of Process Flow Diagrams (PFD), mass balance, Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID), equipment specification and selection in the chemical production industries is being sought. Knowledge in the pharmaceutical, biopharm, and beverage industries, with FDA design experience, is an additional plus. Knowledge working with silicon materials in the solar field is a plus.
Specific areas of design capability include:
· In-depth knowledge applying chemical engineering principles to a production facility.
· Working knowledge of Hysis, Aspen Plus, and/or WinGems.
· Experience with mechanical / process system commissioning.
· Design of clean spaces, laboratories, factory layout, and general arrangements.
· Demonstrated experience within an operating facility is a plus.
· Registered Professional Chemical Engineer preferred. The ability to obtain license via comity or exam within short period is expected.
The position requires a proven capability to:
· Prepare concept, feasibility, and cost estimates within grassroots and operating facilities.
· Develop project requirements for a multi-discipline design effort. Conceive and evolve project requirements between multiple customer stakeholders
· Develop project deliverables – drawings, specifications, reports, and design criteria.
· Manage budget, scope, and schedule within contractual limits.
· Coordinate work with design team and external vendors, contractors, and sub-consultants.
· Experience within an operating facility working with customers is desired. The ability to work independently is critical.
Successful candidate must be well organized, self-motivated, possess excellent oral and written communication skills, and enjoy working in a team environment. The ability to work with sound engineering judgment is critical. The candidate will be expected to work for multiple chemical process customers. The position is for a mid level chemical engineer but candidates at higher or lower levels with appropriate experience will be considered. The candidate must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.
