Mechanical/Piping Designer

Harris Group Inc. has an opening for a Mechanical/Piping Designer with relevant experience in facilities, manufacturing, and related projects. Successful candidates need to be self-starters with 10 years or more experience in piping system design and AutoCAD drawing preparation for industrial projects. Design experience should include:
• Experience as a design coordinator and lead designer on multi-discipline projects
• General arrangement and plant layout drawing preparation. Layout of piping systems.
• P&ID preparation. Preparation of line, valve and tie in lists.
• Thorough understanding of industrial piping systems. Experience with deliverables required for industrial piping projects
• Experience in acquisition and presentation of accurate dimensional field data
• Coordination of piping design with vendor supplied equipment. Experience with CADworx software is a plus.
• Demonstrated ability to route pipe in the field
• Coordination with engineering for piping support locations and stress analysis

Candidates should be able to travel for short periods to customer sites and in support of projects in other Harris Group offices. Excellent communication skills are required for success in this position.
