Semiconductor Specialty Chemical Production Plant Expansion

Confidential Client | Forest Grove, OR

Project Overview

Harris Group successfully executed the design of a new chemical processing line for a client’s ultrapure hydrogen peroxide production facility in Oregon, marking a significant expansion of the existing plant capacity. This project, valued at approximately $17 million, encompassed comprehensive design, bid support, permitting, and construction assistance.

Key Features
  • Tank Farm Expansion: Added capacity of 240,000 gallons of storage.

  • High-Purity Systems: Implementation of high-purity piping, tanks, ultra-pure water systems, glycol chillers, and dedicated product load-out bays.

  • Engineering Excellence: Developed detailed civil plans, process flow diagrams (P&IDs), 3D piping design models, tank pad designs, and electrical distribution plans.

  • Advanced Coordination: Utilized 3D laser scanning to accurately integrate the new design with existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless coordination with the current pipe bridge and equipment layouts.

Additionally, our team undertook the multi-discipline tenant improvement design for a new research and development laboratory and office space, which included:

  • Comprehensive Design Elements: Slab plans, underground double-contained piping, high-purity gas and water distribution, plumbing, HVAC, electrical systems, emergency power, and building controls.

  • Safety Measures: Specification of a clean agent fire suppression system to safeguard sensitive analytical equipment.

  • Support and Assistance: Worked with Building Officials and Fire Marshal to establish a High Hazard Occupancy for the lab.

This project not only enhances the client’s production capabilities but also underscores Harris Group's commitment to engineering excellence and innovative design solutions in the chemical processing industry.
