Biopharmaceutical Gas Monitoring Alarm System

Confidential Client | Hillsboro, OR

Project Overview

Harris Group provided detailed electrical and controls design for the procurement and construction of an asphyxiating gas (low O2) alarm system for a biopharmaceutical facility using nitrogen gas.

Highlights

Gas Monitoring: Designed O2 sensors and constant level monitoring devices with backup power via uninterruptible power supplies (UPS).

Alarm Activation: Configured alarms and annunciation with hardwired beacons and horns, ensuring fail-safe, immediate operator notification in affected areas.

Centralized Monitoring: Integrated signals and alarms with the campus Building Automation System (BAS) through Ethernet network for centralized alarm monitoring and management.

This project enhanced safety by providing reliable, robust detection and alarm notification for low oxygen environments in a critical biopharma setting.
