Campus Center Remodel for Skagit Valley College, Mt. Vernon, WA.

Campus Center building is one of Skagit Valley College’s charter buildings. Built in the early 1950’s it had been partially remodeled and added onto six different time with no apparent consistency.

How We Did It

Harris Group phased the remodel to allow for continued occupancy of various parts of the building. At no time was the building fully unoccupied. The project included the design of all HVAC equipment for the new areas to be installed on the roof.

Harris Group provided mechanical design services for the HVAC, plumbing and sprinkler system of the existing 33,000 square foot single story building as well as renovating 23,000 square feet of the same building.

The project included replacing existing steam to hot water heat exchangers, circulating pumps condensate pumps, expansion tanks and control valves. Harris Group also provided air conditioning with the use of a chiller and chilled water system.

A new grease waste system was designed for the kitchen to bring it to code requirements. A temperature control system was designed for the 23,000 square foot re-model and connected via the LAN to the existing workstation I the maintenance building.

Harris Group provided a phased approach for the remodel to allow for continued occupancy.
