Integrated Material & Energy Recovery Facility
BHS Projects at Lane County LLC | Lane County, OR

Project Overview
Harris Group provided an independent engineering review of an advanced Integrated Material & Energy Recovery Facility (IMERF) to process three waste streams: municipal solid waste (MSW), commingled recycling materials (CRM), and organic waste.

Key Highlights
Processing Capacity: 160,000 tons/year of MSW, 50,000 tons/year of CRM, plus organic yard and food waste.
Material Recovery: Dedicated systems for recycling and organics collection—recyclables for sale and organics for anaerobic digestion (AD).
Renewable Energy Production: AD system generates renewable natural gas and CO2 from organic waste.
Organic Waste Management: In-vessel composting processes digestate into alternative landfill cover material to control odors and disease spread.
Project Support: Harris Group prepared an Independent Engineer’s Report for project financing.
Harris Group: Conducting objective assessments of advanced facilities.
