Fast tracked project to meet increasing demand in the oil fields of western North Dakota.

A fast tracked project was needed to meet the increasing demand in the oil fields. The project consisted of three gas turbines in different locations.

The project needed to expand into two additional phases (100 MW) each to meet growing.

How We Did It

Harris Group provided standardized designs to allow for quick and consistent design, major equipment procurement and delivery for construction support. Through close coordination and collaboration with Basin Electric, Harris Group expedited the design and procurement process to meet the commercial operation date and generation needs.

The scope of work consisted of standardized design, cold region designs and DCS programming for three gas turbines in different locations near Williston, ND. The generation capacity for each facility is normally 135. MW. Each consisted of simple Cycle LM 6000 SPRINT gas fired turbine generators (CTG), balance of plant (BOP) equipment, and modular power distribution center (PDC).

Harris Group’s extensive peaking power experience and standardized design approaches for multiple sites helped the project meet the commercial operation dates and generation needs.

Through close coordination and collaboration with the Client, Harris Group expedited the design and procurement process.
